So I guess I should tell you a bit about me (Momma Bear) and Cubbie (my 'lil man) and what our blog is all about. After all wouldn't you want to know what it is you're going to be reading about? Well to sum it up this blog is going to be about Me, my Husband and my Cubbie's adventures, misadventures, successes, and failures as we learn together about life, love, and the world we are growing up in.
I'm a 25yr old first time Momma of an almost 9 month old little boy. The three of us, which includes my husband/Cubbie's Papa Bear, live in a small town in Northern Indiana. My husband and I grew up in the same small town, went to the same small high school two years a part, but never met until we were well out of school. After a few years of tears and laughter we were blessed with the surprise of parenthood. We found out in January of 2010 that we would be expecting at the end of September, which caused us to move some plans around as we were scheduled to be married that August. With the help of our families we were able to move our wedding up to April and it was amazing.
I had a pretty easy going pregnancy, not even a moment of morning sickness, and no real weight gain till my last 2 months (not to brag as my second time around probably won't be as easy lol), with the exception of one bout of food poisoning in my second trimester. My due date was moved forward by 2 weeks in my 3rd trimester, and by the end of August the Dr told me my Lil Man could be here any day. Well I tried just about everything to get him to show up sooner rather than later as he was expected to be a bit on the larger end of the scale. Worried about my "large" baby I was induced September 17th, 2010, and gave birth to a healthy 8lb 11oz 21in long baby boy a little before 9pm. So while he was big, he wasn't the 10lb baby my Dr was expecting, and I thank God for that every day ;)
In the last year or more we as a family have been through a lot of ups and downs. Having to not only go through our first year of marriage, but with an infant can make it just a bit harder. But nothing makes it all better like peek-a-boo before falling asleep, or kisses when you wake up. I love watching my Cubbie learn and grow just as much as I love doing so myself with him. The rest of this blog will hopefully be about what we learn, how we learn it, what worked for us, and what didn't. I'm sure it will be filled with laughter and tears, but hopefully mostly joy (and probably a little bragging about my beautiful and smart baby boy).
The world around us is a wondrous thing and its so amazing to see it through new eyes.
Hope this journal helps you on the road of young motherhood. I will enjoy traveling with you.
