New Year, New Mama Bear...

I really want to try and keep this blog up this year, and maybe hopefully get people reading it :) If only...lol. Usually I don't do the whole "New Years Resolutions" thing, but this year I have decided that, while it's not an official resolution, that I need to get healthy. I also know that I need to lose all this weight I gained when I was pregnant and since having had Lil'Man. When I got pregnant I was around 185lbs and now am at 238lbs (which was also my weight at delivery) the heaviest I have ever been. I can feel the weight on my body and how it makes me feel and I know I need to rid myself of it, and soon. So these are my two biggest goals... Loose Weight and Eat Healthy.

My first step towards weight loss was that my mom helped me to join her fitness clubs Biggest Loser contest that lasts 10 weeks and in that 10 weeks I can use their facilites. I took my first class on Sunday, Spin/Pump, and let me tell you it was not easy... I had a small idea as to what to expect, and while I was thinking along the right lines the class was even more than I thought it would be and lets just say it kicked my butt. My new train of thought though is, if it doesn't hurt then it doesn't work, mostly meaning if I'm not feeling it then obviously it's not doing me any good. So I pushed through it as best I could and while I kept wanting to quit because I couldn't keep up I didn't and it felt good to know I kept going. Monday, I did some sitting bike and eliptical so as to make sure not to let my muscles lock up too much from using them more than I'm use to normallly. Today I plan on doing some "Just Dance" on the Wii and Wii Fit Plus.

Recently I've been added to Pintrest not only is it addicting it's full of so many great ideas! I've found some really good exercises to help me with my real big problem areas (my back, hips, stomach) and there's also so many modivational images and sayings too. The biggest thing though is that Pintrest makes it so easy for me to find some great healthy recipies for me and my family! I'm a bit of a picky eater, and can find that I just lapse into what I know I'll eat instead of taking the time to look things up. With Pintrest it seems to take the searching out of finding recipies and just brings them right to me. I already have a big list of recipies to start making, which starts today.

Not only am I doing this for myself, but I'm doing this for Lil'Man. I want him to learn how to eat right. I don't want him to be as picky an eater as I am, so that he's constantly fighting with himself to eat what's right over what he should be eating like I do. I've always made sure he is eating like he should, but that's not enough. As he gets older he will start to notice if I am not eating the same way he is, and wonder why he has to eat healthy foods while I eat what I want. I want to be able to share a meal with him, not just some things.

These are my first steps toward a better future.
